Sighvatsson House

The Sighvatsson family, a couple with a 10-year old daughter, commissioned this house for a site on the canals in Venice, California.

The constraints presented by a narrow site coupled with a generous 400-sqm program were the main drivers in the design of the house. Close proximity to neighbors led to a translucent U-shaped skin oriented towards the canals to provide privacy.
