While the essence of Bali lies in the interaction between different cultures, the ubiquitous resort typology in many tropical destinations paradoxically emphasizes the guests’ exclusive enjoyment, detached from the life of the local community. The Potato Head Studios – located on one of the last remaining unoccupied beach front sites in Seminyak – challenges the typical resort typology: “exclusivity” is abandoned to create a space shared with the community.
