Knoll celebrates Bauhaus
The Bauhaus – the German school that had a unique influence on the modern project – was founded one hundred years ago. From its founder Walter Gropius to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe – its last director – by way of protagonists like Marcel Breuer, Johannes Itten, Wassily Kandinsky, Wilhelm Wagenfeld and Marianne Brandt, the teachings of the school established a new way of thinking about design. This history intertwined with that of Knoll on multiple occasions, through a figure who was the fulcrum of these connections: Florence Knoll.
