Centre Pompidou x Jersey City

The Pathside Building opened in 1912 in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood as part of an office and trolley complex for the Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G). Journal Square was then and for decades following a lively theater and commercial district around a major public transit node. After a period of decline in the 1960s, the neighborhood has recently experienced an explosion of new residential development, especially near the Journal Square PATH Train Station and bus terminal and the Pathside Building.
