Mercedes Office Village

The office-village masterplan is the result of collaboration between the three architects: Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, and OMA/Rem Koolhaas. This enterprise aims to provide an identifiable image for a site – an industrial wasteland in the north of Dusseldorf – that despite its strategic location between the city centre and Dusseldorf Airport, has not yet been succesful in attracting development. The particular nature of the enterprise – the collaboration between three distinctly different architects- consciously precludes both an overall formal principle and a large singular building development concept.
