Komische Oper Berlin

A monolithic block hidden behind a row of postwar mixed-use blocks on Berlin’s historic boulevard Unter den Linden, the Komische Oper is a barely noticeable presence in one of the city’s most frequented areas. OMA’s proposed design for the extension of the building endows it with a light, playful volume that engages with the city and its public.
